What is the key reason I should choose DomesticONE?

DomesticONE is a registered cleaning company and MOM licensed agency in providing cleaning services and placement of local part-time maids/helpers. By engaging our domestic services, you can be sure that these maids/helpers are legal to work for you.
Most importantly, you have the freedom to arrange future cleaning schedule with the maid/helper directly. There is also flexibility in setting the work scope at every cleaning session.

Who are the maids/helpers that I will be assigned?
These maids/helpers are female Singaporeans or PRs in the age group ranging from late 30s to 50s. They are skilled and have many years of experience in providing home cleaning services.

What is the agency fee and why do I have to pay for it?
The agency fee covers our company’s general administrative and overheads as well as transportation and replacement costs. All unnecessary frills are eliminated to ensure DomesticONE provides service that is the most affordable and competitive in the market. On top of that, the agency fee includes a guarantee of 3 free replacements of maids/helpers within the 12 months period starting from the 1st service commencement date.

Why do we need replacements and what is it for?
In the event where the maid/helper quits the assignment or you are not satisfied with the maid/helper’s service (within reasonable demand and expectation), the 3 replacement opportunities will entitle you to get a new maid/helper at no additional costs. This is to assure you that your home maintenance is not being disrupted.

Do I need to pay any upfront payments or deposits?
No upfront payments or deposit is needed. You will only need to pay the agency fee on the first day of service where we will deliver the service agreement and maid/helper to you.

Are there any other hidden costs besides the agency fee and the maid/helper’s hourly salary?
No, you can rest assured that there are no other hidden costs.

Who pays the maids/helpers?
At the end of every cleaning session, you pay cash to the maid/helper at the applicable rate.

Can I extend the working hours?
Yes, you can extend the hours and pay the maid/helper accordingly.

Am I liable to any contract or must I commit to a long term service?
You need not serve any contract. But if you wish to terminate the service, do let us know so that we can do the necessary arrangement. However, stoppage of service must not exceed 45 days else replacement opportunities of maids/helpers will be rendered void.

Do I get the same maid/helper servicing my home every session?
Yes, you do. Once you are satisfied and pleased with the maid/helper, she will attend to your house chores at every session.

Do I have to keep up with the fixed regular day and time of the cleaning sessions?
As these maids/helpers have other homes to service, it is advisable that you do so in order to have the same maid/helper attending to your house chores. However, if there is a need to reschedule, you can discuss with the maid/helper privately to agree on a new schedule subjected to her availability.

Can I leave my house keys with the maid/helper?
For a start, we recommend you to be around while the cleaning is in progress. Once you feel comfortable with the maid/helper, it is at your own discretion to leave your house keys with her while you are away. Nevertheless, owners are urged to keep valuable items away to prevent any misunderstandings.

What do I need to prepare for the maid/helper?
To make the cleaning session an efficient one, we advise owners to have basic cleaning equipments such as vacuum cleaner or broom, mop, wipe cloth, pails and cleaning detergent. Most importantly, there must be water at home.

How long do you take to find me a maid/helper?
It usually takes us one working day upon your confirmation to assign you a maid/helper.

Will I be held responsible should the maid/helper injure herself while performing her duties?
Under the Work Injury Compensation Act (replaces the Workmen’s Compensation Act with effect from 1 April 2008), domestic workers are not covered by the Act. In other words, you are not liable for any forms of compensation benefits if the maid/helper injures herself during the course of work. However, DomesticONE hope that employers be reasonable and understanding and not allocate duties that can pose danger to the maids/helpers’ safety.

What is the role of DomesticONE?
DomesticONE acts as a booking agent to recommend a suitable babysitter from our pool of stringently selected and experienced staff to the client. However, families using our services must agree to terms and conditions that apply.

Who are the babysitters that I will be assigned?
These babysitters are female Singaporeans or PRs in age groups ranging between the late 30s & 50s, with many years of experience in providing babysitting services.

How would you assign a babysitter for me?
DomesticONE would listen to your requirements and recommend the babysitter that is able to best cater to your child's needs and nearest to your location.

As all our babysitters have been interviewed carefully and recommended upon positive feedback, clients can be assured that only professional babysitters with good track records are listed in our database.

Do you conduct background checks for your babysitters?
Yes, of course. Candidates are carefully interviewed in person and we also constantly request for feedback from their clients. Only those with positive and good recommendations from their customers will be retained for employment.

Do you check if the babysitter has any history of mental illness?
During the interview process, we will record their personal data and take note of their past working experience. In additional, we will do reference checks through phone discussions with their previous employers.

What is the average educational level of the babysitter?
In general our babysitters have primary to polytechnic education, with the younger ones tending to hold higher qualifications.

While we understand that the education level of a babysitter can be taken into consideration, we would like to point out that it may not necessary play an important part on how they care and tend to your children. Many of our popular babysitters may not be highly educated, but they hold an amazing track record for being a caring and loving babysitter.

What is the babysitter responsible for?
The babysitter's main role is to take care of your child and ensure all his/her needs are met.

If you wish for the babysitter to adhere to specific rules for your child, please advise them in advance.

How long does it take to book or re-book the babysitter?
As most of our babysitters have very busy schedules and are high in demand, we would recommend advance booking to ensure that you can get them within your planned timeframe. Generally, booking ranges from one to five working days.

What is the advantage of hiring a babysitter?
They provide a more personal child care service, devoting all their time to looking after your child to ensure all needs are taken care of. Your child will feel the warmth and security likened to that of a family. Our recommended ratio is 1 babysitter : 2 children. Sufficient rest and nutrition is important during the confinement period to ensure good health, so pamper yourself by getting a confinement nanny to take care of your daily needs and newborn baby.

When should I start to make a booking?
The customer is encouraged to make a booking at least 3 months in advance, prior to her estimated delivery date.

Will I be able to select a nanny?
Regretfully, we do not allow selection of nannies, as planning of job schedules is done through our office so as to achieve maximum work efficiency. In addition, due to the fact that as the delivery date is only an estimate and not precise, there may be unforeseen circumstances which could result in the nanny being unable to work if she's feeling unwell, have personal problems at home or immigration restrictions etc., for example.

Am I allowed to appoint the nanny whom my friend used before?
Yes, you are welcome to appoint the nanny and she will be placed on your top priority list; but please take note that her service is subject to availability.

Can I get a replacement if nanny is unsuitable?
Yes, you can request for a replacement if you find the nanny unsuitable, upon our receiving your valid feedback.

How do I tell if the company is licensed with the Ministry of Manpower?
